As career and life challenges are navigated, many women find themselves grappling with similar issues. The NORBCC Women’s Conference offers a safe place to discuss the topics of the day through the lens of
feminism.
The mission of the NORBCC Women’s Conference is to promote, communicate and amplify the influence of women entrepreneurs.
This annual non-partisan, nonprofit conference, brings together active professionals to connect, renew, and find inspiration in community.

Keynote Speaker:
Dr. LaNail R. Plummer
As a leading professional in the mental health field, Dr. LaNail R. Plummer and her team of 30 all Black/women of color, are committed to improving the lifestyles of others through the aspects of mental health and character development. A United States Military Veteran and the CEO of Onyx Therapy Group -- an organization she founded in 2013 -- Dr. Plummer has over 15 years of experience working with a multitude of clients, and specializing in the care of young women; the Black community; and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Her work and expertise has been featured in everything from Essence, NBC, Forbes, The Washingtonian and Time Magazine (among others), and has spoken at conferences during Essence Fest, for Mental Health America, NYU, and the US Black Chambers of Commerce.
Our annual Rose Nicaud award is given to a women of distinction within the business community and the Greater New Orleans area. Here's a brief bio on her legacy.
"Rose Nicaud, born enslaved, understood the importance of strength and perseverance. Rose was one of the first women and woman of color vendors in the city of New Orleans who sold French coffee, commonly known as café au lait, to patrons along the river near the St. Louis Cathedral. She overcame obstacles all while possessing an air of grace and excellence when exhibiting her strength.
After several years of success, Rose was able to purchase her freedom as well as the freedom of her husband and subsequently a storefront in the world-renowned French Market. Her coffee business became a staple for locals who frequented the French Market. French Market Coffee is still a thriving business and a testament to the incredible legacy left by a remarkable woman..."
